The State Museum of Urban Sculpture in St. Petersburg was founded on July 28, 1932. It is the only museum institution in Russia engaged in the study, protection and restoration of monuments of monumental art in an open urban environment. In the Necropolis of the Masters of Arts (formerly the Tikhvin Cemetery) there are about 200 gravestones for writers, musicians, artists of the 19th century, actors and theater workers of the 19th-20th centuries. The museum's funds contain wonderful collections of sculpture and graphics.
When visiting the museum, personal protective equipment (masks) is provided. Visitors without personal protective equipment are not allowed on the exposition of the museum complex.
